We are entering into some exciting times now. Today’s lesson and next week’s lesson mark the final “setup” activities.

Today we’re going to “populate” your blog with content and next week we’re going to publish the first issue of your newsletter.

So, we’re closing in on those first sales. Keep going. You’re almost ready to begin seeing some results from your efforts.

I’ve heard from quite a few members who have told me they are “finally getting somewhere” due to the step-by-step, drip-feed format we’ve been using. Trust me when I say, it’s only going to get better.

But, it does illustrate a good point: the hardest part of success in internet marketing for most people is getting out of the gate.

It’s been my experience that those who get things setup end up making money. The staggering failure rate that is reported as the “norm” primarily is a result of the lack of getting the foundational things in place.

If you quit and turn back, you’ll be stuck in the starting position once again. And off to find another “option”. One more stat in the staggering failure rate.

If – you – stick – with – this – and – follow – instructions – you – won’t – fail!

Introduction

The ultimate way to get buyers is to strategically use presell content to convert browsers into buyers. It’s time to start blogging!

Your first step is to populate your blog by posting at least five or six messages initially. That way, anyone who visits your blog in the near future will see a busy blog, which makes them more likely to return. If they visit and see just an article or two, they may assume the blog is abandoned (which means they won’t bookmark it, subscribe to the RSS feed, or visit it again).

After you’ve populated your blog, you then need to commit to a regular posting schedule. Obviously, the more you post the better. So if you can post a short article each day, that’s great. But if not, then commit to posting at least three or four times per week.

SIDEBAR: We’ll talk more about “regular” weekly blogging later. In fact, I’ll give you so many ideas for getting ready-made content and creating fresh content that you’ll have plenty of options for years to come. For now, we’re just gonna focus on populating your blog with initial content so it has some “meat” to it when people visit.

There must be some reason why some Tweeters on Twitter get so many of their tweets retweeted.

Do you ever wonder why more of your tweets don’t get retweeted?

A retweet or RT happens whenever your tweet on Twitter is retweeted by other Tweeters. In other words, when you tweet (posting a message on Twitter) and then other Tweeters (other posters on Twitter) retweet (forward your post to others) then it is called a retweet.

For example, if my original tweet was this:
awebbiz  ~ Reliable and low cost hosting service ~ www.awebbiz.com/hostgator.htm ~ [Please RT]

A retweet (RT) by other Tweeters would look like this:
RT @awebbiz Reliable and low cost hosting service ~ www.awebbiz.com/hostgator.htm ~ [Please RT]

There are advantages to having your tweets retweeted:

• Many people who read the retweet (RT) may decide to follow you or click on your link.
• It makes you look as if you are knowledgeable, or as I like to say, “You are in the loop,” when people are retweeting your tweets. This often encourages other Tweeters to follow you and/or retweet (RT) your tweet.

So how do you get more people to retweet (RT) your tweets?

The 4 Best Ways To Get More People To Retweet Your Tweets:

1. Use a numbered list or use specific numbers:
- 10 Ways You Can Get More Traffic to Your Web Site
- How You Can Lose 25 pounds in 30 Days
- 30 Writing Tips That Will Improve Your Writing
- The 3 Things That Your Headlines Must Do If You Want More Sales

Your tweets should be like a headline. The best tweets will target the reader’s self-interest.  Curiosity in your tweet also works well.

Your reader wants to know:
“What’s in it for me?”
“What benefit will I get from the information in your tweet or if I click on your link?”

2. Include the words “You” or “Your”:
People who read your tweets will have more interest in them if the tweet is about them. If the tweet targets the reader then they will be more likely to RT your tweet if they thing the information is valuable.

3. Include a link:
People seem to be more inclined to RT your tweet if there is a link included. You can only say so much with a tweet that contains 140 characters. So having a link to a web site or a blog, where someone can find more detailed information that they are interested in works well.

4. Include this in your tweet:
[Please Retweet] or [Please RT]

Including [Please RT] in your tweet acts as a call for action to be taken by your reader. People like to be told what to do next.

If a person has taken the time to read your tweet and perhaps they visited your web site or blog, then they may feel obligated to “pay” you back for the great information you provided. The easiest way for them to “pay” you back is with a RT of your tweet.

Try using the suggestions I have provided and I guarantee that you will get more retweets of your tweets, which means you will be getting many more followers than you are getting now.

I started using Twitter on March 16, 2009. I immediately saw the benefits of ’socially marketing” my Internet marketing business, www.aWebBiz.com,  to thousands of people on Twitter.

The problem was that I didn’t know how to quickly get thousands of people to follow me on Twitter.

Plus I didn’t want just any people following me on Twitter, I wanted  people who would be interested in the Internet marketing niche.
 
What good is it getting thousands of people to follow you if they aren’t interested in what you are interested in or if they aren’t in your niche market? It’s a waste of time!

So the task ahead for me was to find a way to get thousands of targeted Tweeters to follow me on Twitter. I got a little tongue-tied on that sentence. LOL

So I started doing Google searches for “how to get followers on Twitter” and I read everything I found.

I learned there are a lot of automated programs in the marketplace that can do things like following those who follow you or unfollow those that aren’t following you, but I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to get in trouble with Twitter if I was using these programs.

So I spent a lot of time reading the Twitter TOS to see what their rules were with regard to automated programs and spam.

I then took everything I learned and put a system together. The system is quick and easy to run.

Keep in mind that although I joined Twitter on March 16, 2009, I didn’t start using my system until March 30. You can see that my followers on the chart looks like the chart of a stock that you would love to own. It has taken off like a rocket!
