"Learn the Marketing and Sales Techniques of the Business World."

May 23, 2004

Hi,

I posted this information on one of the affiliate marketing forums and I thought it would also be helpful to my newsletter readers. Especially if you own a website or perhaps if you plan to build one in the future and you want to learn how to get a higher position with the search engines.

I have been using some new software called Link Proctor. This software is used to help your website get a higher Page Rank (PR), which is mainly accomplished by doing link exchanges with other websites that have a high PR.

Link Proctor has quite a few different features, but the two features I like the best are listed below.

The first feature I use it for is to check to see if all my link partners still have my website's link on their "Links Page."
I simply enter the URL of my "Links Page" into the software.

The software will give me a report and show me which link partners don't have my website's link on their website's "Links Page" any longer. Then I can send an email to them and tell them that they need to add my link again or I'll remove their link from my "Links Page."

This will save you a lot of time especially if you have many link exchanges. It takes a lot of time to visit websites individually and try to locate your link to make sure it is still there.

The second feature I use this software for is to check all the heavy hitters in my niche market. These would be the websites with a high Page Rank (PR) who are also getting a top search engine ranking for many of the best keywords in my website's niche market.

I simply enter the URL of any of their "Link Pages" into the software. I next get a report that shows me all the websites that are linked to them, but the best part is that I get to see the PR of the website's "Links Pages" that link to them. The PR of their actual "Links Page" and not their home page. The web page that is important to your website is the one that your link will be actually be listed on.

I mean why would I want to trade links with another link page that has a low PR? I'm only interested in having my link on web pages with high PR. I next do link exchanges with all the PR 5 and higher "Link Pages" I found using the Link Proctor software.

More Freebies:

Here's a free Page Rank Search Engine called Prog that works just like Google, but unlike Google it will display the Page Rank (PR) of the web pages listed.

Finally, here is the new review I did for Affiliates Alert software.

The real reason I create reviews for ebooks and software is for the search engines. Just do a search for Affiliates Alert Review on Google and you will see what I mean. Listed at about number four in the results.

Until next time take care. And remember, if it isn't fun, don't do it! Life is too short to be doing something you don't enjoy.

Best regards,
